the songs of theirs that I've heard on the radio have sounded nearly exactly the same as blink 182, and I'm not a big fan of blink 182. good review though.

Terrible band, but a suprisingly good review considering its a tbt. If you want a great band that wont disappoint, check out Bad Astronaut, as its much better than this tripe
|

Eh, I don't know if I should check this out. I haven't heard the single and I don't really like Blink, but everyone says this is kind of a 'matured' album. Tom's featured in the new Guitar World, by the way.

Delonge sucks as much as ever on this album, especially vocally, but the band can actually write some pretty sweet music. It's very...atmospheric, almost. Not totally, but it's got those moments where it lulls you to peace.
While this isn't an essential album, there are a few decent moments on here.

I haven't heard this record this yet but the way Tom's gone on about it, he's made it sound like the biggest thing to hit music since The BeatlesThis Message Edited On 05.27.06

AVA are fucken great, everyone must buy this record!!
|

I don't know why you think this is that good. I would advise buying a U2 record if you really do like AVA though. This Message Edited On 05.27.06

Heh. Pwned.

Listening to Blink 182's self-titled makes me want to lower my rating on this peice of over-hyped crap.

Tom's voice is the most terrible attempt at singing I've ever heard. Truly, he can't sing, it's not good in any sense.
This music really isn't anything spectacular.

Good CD...sigh...blink182 burrys these guys in a second! why did them break up?

Incredible music infused with messages and hidden codes. the codes are not in the words but in the chords and frequencies.
Those who are listening will truly get it
those who arent will never understand
and they'll continue bitching about a music and sound they could never dream of having a part of/creating/understanding.
But isnt that the way of the world.....
there's something much deeper going on...
something so deep that some poeple will just never get it
thank you tom for being yet another artist to fascilitate in the change in consciousness for this planet. Some artists live for themselves, others live knowing they have a responsibility to the world. It takes guts, but someone has to do it
onward and upward!
(trippy rant)
Well, I'm sure if I took a few hits of cocaine I'd see it that way. But otherwise that is probably the most pretentious thing I have ever heard anyone say in defense of a bad album.

omg. i seriously hope i read Lightmissions post wrong.
well, Oh Holy One Who Can Decipher The Great Dialect Of Angels and Airwaves, please decode the sublime messages for me and tell me if its something on the lines of "im mature and sophisticated and the first thing i want to do as a mature individual is to tell everyone that i am very much so sophisticated and mature".

This album is okay, nothing too special. I'd rather Tom go back to Blink-182 they weren't that much better, but they were fun to watch.

Tom's a dbag. Good review though! This Message Edited On 05.31.06

Lightmissionsjfsj...
Aside from being completely spaced on on some sort of psychedelic hallucinagen(?), I'm curious as to whether or not your Tom in disguise.
