I'm betting on it being better. Georgia's a fantastic writer, just needed a better recording IMO.

She's making it hard not to read into the drama, but I suppose there's something admirable in that. Great song regardless, recording's sounding a tad better than on this album, though still a bit monotonous, I think. That scream towards the end. [2] Ahhhh. So good.

Can't really deny her that. If some shit's going on in your life and you're an artist, ideally there shouldn't be anything barring you from putting it all into your art. Unfortunately, people often don't do that cuz of professional consequences, but hopefully, there won't be any for either GMaq or her villainous ex.

"Tell me you'll never be in love again/ Now you're walking round with someone else"
I don't know how to feel about this, particularly because she makes it so clear it's about Wil with that "treat them like queens until they disagree" line. More Scared Of You was fairly obviously about her, and I suppose 'Suffer' was quite scathing, but even then he made an effort to distance her from the narrative of the album. If one didn't research and read into it, there was next to no indication that it was actually about Georgia -- even then it required a great deal of inference -- and a good portion of that album dealt with Wil's own failings in their relationship. This, on the other hand -- this just feels cruel to me. Then again, they're two very different bands.

Indeed, this is an excellent point.

In Wil's AMA, he did say something like "Georgia can be very cruel", so this kinda lines up with that...but I really do think it's just that Georgia doesn't write as subtly as Wil, regardless of whether that's intentional or habitual. I've been listening to her for as long as she's been releasing music and her lyrics are always gut-punching; straight-to-the-point. Aesthetically, I think it's brilliant and precisely what makes all of her songs so penetrating, and particular songs like "Jet Fuel" so biting.
But even looking at it in terms of social or professional responsibility, I don't know that anybody actually gives a fuck that Georgia and Wil are trading jabs on each other's latest records, or even that the former is writing so harshly about the latter. They were in a supposedly turbulent relationship so it's all been said and done between them (privately), but publicly, it's not like this is Di vs. Charles. I hope (and also genuinely think) that this will have no more impact on people than providing a little bit of insight to mull over while listening to the music or gossip to bring up in passing with fellow fans. The worst consequence I could imagine would be Wil using his industry pull to fuck over Camp Cope, but I really doubt that would ever happen, even considering that a former Sputniker seemed to suggest once that Wil had done that before...(perhaps he was joking)...

I remember being at a house party about 16 months ago and a friend arrived and told me that he HAD heard from someone that Wil Wagner and GMaq had broken up that night, and he was looking forward to both Camp Cope and SSB's new breakup records. Seems we are getting exactly that.

yea when two songwriters like georgia and wil breakup, theres no way they're not gonna put that down in their respective records

The recording on this new album is so much better than the last, couldn't be happier; that said, a lot of the songs are sounding super same-y to me, hopefully it grows a bit. The third(?) track is beautiful.
