These guys are so much more fun than Scale lmao

Scale isn't really about "fun" as much as they are about creating technical yet atmospheric landscapes (soundscapes?) with their music. Polyphia just wanks.

"Polyphia just wanks"
I'm so sick of hearing that

Well it's true. They obviously have the technical ability but they have very few tracks that I would consider well-written.

Yeah, Scale the Summit create such a fantastic atmosphere with their music, or should i say.. "used to"...
The Migration is lush and has a really peaceful vibe to it (that's the best way i can describe it really), Polyphia and StS are very different bands, but they share a couple of traits as well

I guess it’s different strokes but to me sts is such a chore to listen to now. I wouldn’t say polyphia “just wanks” although they do a fair bit but I’ll take their wanking over sts atmosphere any day. I’ll listen to them when I want to zzzzz

The Migration owns, but yeah I don't think Polyphia and StS are that similar really
This album also really isn't that "wanky", its more groovy and chill. Muse is wanky as shit though and I love it

Scale the Summit is now what Polyphia has always been, essentially just a style of rock music that musicians make to impress other musicians. It feels so lifeless because rather than an organic writing process where a musician wrestles technique and inspiration together; the technique IS the inspiration and the end product is the musical theory equivalent of an ultra HD photograph of sand.

I agree...I think? I'm not a musician nor do I know anything about music theory but STS is bae.

Desert Canyons and The Collective are both what I would call hard 5s. Mysteriously, dark horse was like a mustang falling into a spike pit

Sounds like you’re calling all of it pretentious

I know you're talking to the other guy but this band comes off as super pretentious, yeah.

Are you not including STS in that
