yeah this is a testament to his experimentalism and is much more fitting for the end of his life/career, while The Next Day is a tad bland imo

I wouldn't say The Next Day was bland it just came across as a sampler platter with a bit of everything piled on the plate. A Bowie album to edit down into a playlist while Blackstar is a unified statement

idk man, I was never a bowie fan, but this album really hit in a place no other album has for me before. this is bowie staring death in the face, this is him accepting the future, this is him accepting whatever is next. I'm honestly kinda floored the more and more I think about it.
