Is the whole "he lets his soul fly" refrain on Zen Scientist a reference to cLOUDDEAD's And All You Can Do is Laugh where the dudes rap about the presidents being "underground"? It has a similar structure and cadence, so I imagine so.

If anything I think he's poking fun at when rappers do that sort of refrain in their songs, notably a slew of rappers in the 90's saying "______ is in the house, _______ is in the house..." going on and on etc etc
