First three tracks do slay though, that trio gives a fair challenge to Empire for me because I'm not that big on The Thin Line and on Best I Can's solo. Jet City Woman, on the other hand...

Best I can and The Thin Line were songs that had to grow on me over the years. I'm higher on those two than Jet City Woman these days. But really Della Brown is where my boner pops up again.
I love the first three tracks on CH but I don't think it stands up to QR's 4 classics. I'd take them over Promised Land though.

Depends what do you intend with Promised Land. The first track is just an intro, did you consider "Out of Mind" too? If not, I can understand even though I'd take Damaged over a good half of both Empire and CH. If yes, than I really can't agree because I think that "Out of Mind" is one of the band's most interesting tracks.
5 classics btw

Are you including promised land or og queensryche?

Thought of full lengths when typing that, so I meant the streak Warning - Promised Land. Obviously didn't mean it in the Sputnik meaning of classic. First three are stone cold 5s to me though, that 3.7 for The Warning is apocalyptic. PL could have been a 5 too if it had a little more oomph. Like the longer version of Someone Else, or Real World which would have been the perfect closer. Both are included in the Japanese press (and in the 2003 edition), but even Sabrutin has a limit when 5ing Queensryche albums.

If someone hadn't told me this was not, in fact, Geoff Tate I never would have known. He sounds like a dead ringer.

Bro I love Real World so much. That was really my first step in re-acquainting myself with PL. I'd always written it off - the beginning of the end if you will.
I saw them perform it in the QR30 tour (lol I know) and it was one of the.....no it was the highlight. The only one. And so I investigated. I am happy.

"Pleasantly surprised" comes to mind when I think of Condition Human. This album is a mountain of life towering over the gloomy and repetitive landscape of today's metal scene.

"46° North" and "Mercury Rising" are a couple of good rockers, shame they're only a bonus of the box-set.

I didn't find them online, but you aren't missing on important stuff anyway, to be honest I haven't listened too much to those 2 tracks.

I'm way behind with QR, would love to check this soon.

I can't believe it took me so long to check this album out in full. It absolutely rules. Easily their best album since Promised Land.

I've heard a lot of people say, and I'd have to agree, that there is no ''Queensryche'' without The Voice. I know that sounds cocky. But, it's the general consensus. In fact, I've witnessed several fans protesting the recent shows with this new singer guy. I was hanging around in the alley behind the venue and saw at least 100 boycotting the show. - Geoff Tate

you're kidding right? If a fan is that passionate about QR I can't imagine they would boycott the other guys in the band. They'd already be in the know about how big of an asshat Boy Geoff was for the better part of a decade.

I am a die hard fan for their classic era GuyMan dude, but I just cant get in to this stuff even though their are many moments that are pretty great......asshat or not, that man has some classic records under his belt, including one of the best heavy metal records ever

Self-titled EP to Promised Land is likely one of the very best streaks in metal.
"If a fan is that passionate about QR I can't imagine they would boycott the other guys in the band."
Exactly my view. Then again I'm not saying that fans can't dislike the current Queensryche. Infact both "Toddryche" albums lack a key element that I can see as a turning point for many listeners, which is subtlety. Certainly the chorus driven writing goes against it (which is why I'm interested in Todd claiming to like "long songs that take you on a journey"), but another underrated factor is the production. Condition Human is not produced that well. It's loud, it sounds plastic (drums), and it damages the music because of this. Just look at the track Hourglass: the acoustic guitar in the verses has little punch due to the lack of dynamics.
