you don't need to explain anything Willie, you have zero credibility when it comes to this band
i'm glad i have your attention as well

I obviously need to explain a lot. Starting with the difference between opinion and fact. Fortunately, my credibility has nothing to do with how well my opinion lines up with yours, which is the only measurement you seem capable of using.
You are, obviously, more than welcome to hold on to their earliest stuff and come out against anything they try to do now, but it's predictable to the point that I already knew what to expect from you before you ever posted here.

Hey, I don't want to indoctrinate anyone into worshiping The Warning. I think I showed more than once that I'm quite the abnormal fan myself on this site with my reverence for The Warning and Rage as my favorites even though I have Mindcrime 5d too. Just to quote a friend of mine: "sometimes you make Mindcrime sound like a shit album", haha.
"I hear very little of The Warning in Fates Warning's first two albums and none after that"
What about No Exit?

you've stated zero facts Willie and these debates are always pretty much a matter of opinion against another and how they line up.......it's the nature of the website lol so yeah, it is pretty much the 'measurement' most of the time
Queensryche is an American progressive heavy metal band formed in 1982......hows that for a fact?!
|
| |
"Named after Queensryche's 1988 album..."
Let that fact sink in

I love Rage for Order and definitely think it's their best. I like The Warning the same way I like "Hell Awaits" from Slayer. It's a good starting point, but their classics were still ahead of them.
Now that you mention it, maybe there is some The Warning in No Exit... I don't particularly enjoy that album either, ha ha.

That's why I've never questioned your credibility despite having never really seen eye-to-eye on this band. It might have something to do with where we both started. I started with Empire. It and Parallels were my introduction to prog. If I was getting facts wrong about the band or seemed to not know anything about them other than their modern stuff (or any other number of actual facts) then a credibility issue could be brought up.

I agree the 'classics' came after The Warning

"computer, query number 1: give me suggestions for system termination"
I'm no expert but did Tate set this trilogy in a world where people do some kind of vague queries through a Wolfram Alpha-like software that interprets human language or has he just finally gone crazy with his love for talking about technology?
"Query number 2: should the code be given to the world, or sold for profit?"
Alright

Yeah. His attempts to sound current and technologically savvy work as well as they did on Dedicated to Chaos. Fortunately, everything else about this album is 10-times better.
|
| |
I'm sure this is better than the likes of Dedicated to Chaos and Frequency Unknown, but I've listened to the three songs you linked and they just sound incredibly mundane to me.

This isn't a great album, but it is a quantum leap forward from Say U Luv It and Wot We Do.

on queue and the fall are nice tracks. dont really feel myself coming back to anything else
|
| |
I like a few of these tracks more than I thought I would going in, especially the stuff on the spacier side. On Queue is pretty mesmerizing, for instance. Gotta spin it another time or two (something I never said about FU etc.) before forming a more solid opinion. A few tracks were a total miss for me on first listen, though.

first half is great, tracks 5-8 are from meh to mediocre, On Queue is superb and the rest is really nice. Good job for once.

I can't stand Tate anymore but The Key is IMO much better than the last album of the so-called Queensryche. "Condition Human" is stupid average Euro-metal, with Todd a clone of Tate. In fact I consider "Condition Human" pure crap. The Key is at least decent. Wait, strike that, both albums are crap.

Haters are always going to Hate, so hate away. I have been listening to Geoff for over 30 years. I love where he went with this album, and his direction, different from QR. He isn't stealing anything from QR, MY GOD you people are inept. He was the singer and writer for QR for 30+ years so of course some things are going to be similar. The dude that said he ripped off songs from QR, DUMBASS!!! HE CO-WROTE Those with Chris Moron! Yes I am calling you out Judasgoat! Some of you just can't let it go! You all talk about how crazy he is, yet you are all trying to hang on and HATE for what happened. He is obviously OK with it as he has a Link to the QR site. Yet QR has no link to Geoffs site. The album is a great piece or work, and sounds great. But of course, for those that want main stream and something that sounds all to familiar I am sure you'll find your band out there.

one comment type of user, one album rated, laughable language used, especially when the phrase ''I've been listening to Geoff for over 30 years'' is written (meaning the user should be at least 40 years old), yeah, troll user

His arguments are wrong/misguided anyway.
Yes, this album is different than any of the Queensryche albums (and better than anything post-Promised Land), but he definitely ripped off the Mindcrime album for the song 'Re-Inventing the Future'. The song from Mindcrime that he lifted parts from is 'The Mission' which was written solely by DeGarmo, which makes the 'he co-wrote those songs!!!!!' argument null and void. Yes, he also stole bits of 'Eyes of a Stranger' for the same song, but he was a lyricist, which makes stealing the music bad no matter how you cut it.
People that hate on Tate generally do so based on his actions towards his ex-band as well as the numerous fans during shows (with video footage to back it up). He also lacks any kind of humility which has a tendency to rub people the wrong way.
He linked to the QR site because it was one of the terms of the settlement, not something done out of the goodness of his heart.
