The song could've ended better (either get some post-rock climax work in there, or cut it shorter, or add a bm outro), but hopefully in context it transitions nicely into the next track. Otherwise putting like 4 mins of post-rock at the end is kinda eh. Otherwise good track tho!

I was led here from another thread, but dammit your review is spot on. I feel the same way about "The Pecan Tree," I get excited each time it comes on as I did the very first time I heard it. The opening is absolutely orgasmic. It is heavy but it is brimming with shimmering beauty. And the trippy haziness about 2:20 into the song takes it to the heavens.
I know this isn't part of the previous discussion taking place but felt I should state my views after reading the review its attached to. I give you a plus. : D

pecan tree's opening is what Celestial Lineage should've sounded like.

new track is pretty good, I always wish they had a less thin and weak guitar tone for the heavier bits tho

I actually like their guitar tones during those portions. It feels more bleak without so much crunch. I do love the crunchy riff around 3 min in the new song though, probably my favorite part.

"Thanks Kim Davis :3"
Aww man. this makes me hate changing my avatar, but now that she's outta jail, it seems obsolete.
Then new guitar tone is amazing. I was unsure on it at first since Sunbather had a nice shimmery, pretty, guitar tone, but it's grown on me. Part of me wanted them to keep the same tone from Sunbather, but then it would just be Sunbather part 2. I like to see them go darker. And I agree, even though it's darker, the nice tone still keeps it pretty, just in a different way. I'm so excited for the new album

Every time I listen to The Pecan Tree, I just get this unexplicable euphoria that you somehow manage to put into words. Love to revisit this review. Yeah the whole album is amazing but that song is one of my favorites of all time.

i didn't like CL that much either, but stylistically it's straightforward Wolves and like the first half of Pecan Tree is pretty straightforward Wolves worship :p

“this is one of my favorite reviews on sputnik.” [2]
Seriously it’s as if someone is transcribing the thoughts in my head and I’m all for it. It’s as if it’s a skirt: long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to be interesting and to keep my attention.
Also the older I get, the more “The Pecan Tree” becomes my favorite song ever made and I love the praise this review gives it because it’s kinda overlooked. Album is truly one of a kind.

Damn guys (BrushedRed, Nemeton, Doctuses)... just seeing your kind words for the review now. Thank you all :] I'm glad I was able to capture that feeling and get it into words that all resonate with us.
