What do you find so bad about this album? It's just another solid Maiden album tbh.

I don't like Iron Maiden so let's check their double album

I get ya there. I'm more of a Judas Priest fan as much as I like Maiden, but I get you with the 'free/loose form' music. Compared to the big four thrash bands, for example, I'm more into the 'underground' acts like Metal Church and Annihilator because of their natural 'feel' and 'free' sounding approach.

Album's really good. Maybe I'll give it a 4 after a while, like I did with TFF, which (unpopular opinion) I like a lot. Maybe it was because I saw them live in '11, in their promotion tour and it just clicked.

Anyway, I expected such a review from you Moonchild, take my pos. Album's promising and really consistent. As was all Maiden's career. If it's not concieved as a greater comeback than BNW, maybe that's because it wasn't preceeded by Blaze-era albums.

Music is a realm of happiness regardless of genre and musical taste, and that's the way it should be.

Hence the, "I don't know why I listened to this......". If you could read, maybe you would understand my point.

I don't understand the point of rating albums from a genre that you don't like. You can't judge an album that lasts 92 minutes, from a band you don't even like, with 1 or 2 spins. That's just the way i see it

What I usually do (I know nobody asked, but hey) is if I don't like an album after the second time I've endured it, I leave it. Then I check on it again a year later. And again a year later, if I still don't like it. I've realized my taste on a genre closes it's circle after a period of two to three years.

What does number of listens have to do with it either? There is no need to force yourself through an album you don't like if you know you won't like it the 3rd, 4th and 5th times around. That's almost masochistic

This is not pop music, the structures of the songs are way more complex and therefore you need to listen to the songs more times in order to have a clear view of what's happening. If you can listen to a double album once and remember everything off it then fine.

First CD I ever bought was Fear of the Dark when it came out... I'm glad this band has been alive for a good part of my life, this is a return to form, I thought Final Frontier was gonna be their last, but I think they have no intention of stopping now...
