Yeah, it's nothing extraordinary and it definitely isn't a 5. But having said that, I still enjoy the record.

holy fuck I swear I'm listening to a different Dir en Grey and a different GazettE now. I can't even be bothered backing myself up on this anymore gg

and "It's more a general criticism of the whole Neo VK scene, and the GazetteE are basically the epitomises it. Even if we take that out the equation, this is just alright with nothing special at all." [2] btw

Haha Jas I knew you'd have a hayday with that comment. How about we forget this and jam Diru instead :3

I appreciated the idea they've tried to cultivate while making this album (as in venturing far away from their usual "back and forth"-type of songwriting, as Reita put it), but in terms of execution this is just poor...

I wouldn't call it poor execution, but reallyyyyyy generic.

...And this presents a problem: once you start to like everything in the universe, you become a Super Saiya-People. Maybe.

maybe it's just my lack of experience with J-rock (aside from Dir en Grey, Exist Trace, and a few other metal bands) or the fact that it's my first exposure to this band, but I dig this. it's nothing amazing but I'm not sure I understand the hate.

DIM, having listened to it a few times, is definitely better though.

Listen to more J-rock and you'll understand the hate.

Dunno, it's not like my j-rock knowledge is overly limited or anything, and I still like this lol.

but you do acknowledge that this is terribly generic right?

Well, yeah, as I mentioned before, this being Diru-lite makes it very fun for me, and I don't really expect originality from this band. I don't punish albums much for being "generic" at all, which is kinda obvious considering some of my alt rock ratings haha.

Alt Rock Knight Evo has spoken. Also Hellscythe read Jas' review for Gauze then jam it, you need that Diru jam.
