sorry but one of the most ridiculously hyperbolic review I've read in a while tbh
"The Most Lamentable Tragedy (is) the best kind of concept album: one that builds its massive scope on real, tangible substance – not by cutting corners and applying makeup where it isn't needed. "
no couldn't disagree more, this record cuts all possible corners and adds all possible fat to sound deeper and epic. Despite having some great tracks, detail and strong lyrics it just doesn't add up to a truly massive record, there's just too much of the music handjobing itself in its choices and poor instrumentals bringing nothing but obtuse space in the runtime. The most lamentable joke of this record as a whole being: it ain't even a glorious trainwreck, it's just the carcass of it
PS: Stable Boy is a hunk of shit no matter how authentically lame it is

A overstuffed hyperbolic review for an overstuffed hyperbolic albun

Just because you disagree doesn't make it ridiculously hyperbolic lol

in his view, the review is hyperbolic and ridiculous, which ties into his general disagreement with it...
but like, his not "agreeing" with some of your points isn't necessarily his only basis for disliking the review

Don't get me wrong, I understand disagreeing and am all for it. But what about the review is "ridiculously hyperbolic?" I threw out some lofty comparisons but they aren't just bullshit points of reference. I feel like I made it clear what parallels I was drawing, and the mere mention of an esteemed classic rock album shouldn't immediately elicit accusations that the reviewer is exaggerating claims.

like I'm just playing devils advocate here but: Your closing para is pretty grandiose :/ idk mane

No I understand, and I'm not offended or anything. There's definitely things in the closing paragraph that are boldly stated, I guess I just feel like a review can show confidence and excitement as long as the points are adequately supported. Of course this brings it back to a matter of opinion concerning whether or not this is worth such excitement and bold assertions, but I digress. I see your point.

Few songs into my first listen. I am enjoying so far. The complaints about this guy's vox are kind of weird to me. They really aren't that grating for punk standards.
