Yeah, it's very cleanly produced. Everything is right there for you to discern upon first listen, which makes it not very suitable for repeated sessions. Other than that it's just a nice post-rock album but I'm trying to grasp what it is that makes people rate this higher than 4 let alone 4,5.

Afaik this is post-metal not post rock though I doubt there's much of a difference.
And 90% of post anything bores the hell out of me. This band and this album have something special. I don't think it has much to do with the actual instrumentation.

it's pretty average and typical affair for post-rock/metal though is what i'm saying
the guitar sounds and song structures seems like a more palatable packaged version of godspeed you mixed with explosions in the sky just armed with more expensive strymon guitar pedals
