finally got to see these guys. the gig was moved to another venue and i only found out when i rocked up to the other venue, as i don't have social medial, causing me to miss a bunch of songs (there were no supporting acts) and having to pay extra for taxis.
they played "betty" in full and i could hear the last notes of "beautiful love" (yes, they actually played that as well) from the door as i came in. needless to say i was absolutely fuming. "betty" is one of my actual all time favourite albums, so that one really hurt. having to queue up for overpriced beer didn't help.
the band took a short break after "betty" and returned with 14 more songs. by the end of the set i wasn't angry anymore as the band sounded absolutely crushing, as good as any i've seen over the years (i've seen many). performance was amazing, too. drums and bass were absolutely pummelling and they played a nice selection of (mostly) old and (a little) new.
the crowd, which was surprisingly large, was really into it, there were good vibes all around and the band seemed to really appreciate it as well. picked up some cool merch after as well.
go see these guys if you get the chance!
setlist (didn't recognize some newer tunes):
swallowing everything
?
?
high visibility
?
your head
on your way down
driving nowhere
birth defect
turned out
---
unsung
ironhead
just another victim
in the meantime

man that stinks that you missed a good chunk of Betty, but like you said the band absolutely crushes live so I'm glad they played 14 more songs after. Their first two albums are the only albums of theirs I hold near and dear, but their live set had a mix of everything and it all bodied me

I don't have much a defense other than this is much more accessible than their previous releases, and I am a much bigger fan of their noise rock era
