I read once that Sex Pistols were essentially just a carefully crafted gimmick to sell fashion and capitalize on teen rebellion.

While i like the album, i just dont agree with the hype that went along with it. Its pretty important to punk and i get that...but there are so much more punk bands that are better. Even the entry level ones (ramones and clash) still kick their ass. Sex pistols are overrated as fuck

Album is okay. Review is not so much.

Maybe it's wrong to write extensively about a bunch of short punk tunes, but a single paragraph still seems pretty lacking.

I respect this album massively, just find it a slog.

They may not have the true punk credentials but I'd rather listen to The Stranglers lol

You have to admit tho, the band's rejection letter of their induction into the Rock N Roll HOF is pretty epic

It's this. It's that. It's fake. Its manufactured.

This album is the reason you like what you do. It changed everything and even now it's still sounds like a fresh attack. The provocation, the energy, the anger, it's timeless and it's all wrapped around unbelievable tunes.

Hate to be that guy and I know this is unrelated but kind of hypocritical how some people (not any of you guys, just speaking in general) criticize modern bands for caring more about their looks than their skills when Sid Vicious couldn't play bass to save his fucking life and is only elevated as an icon because of his punk look

Also, I agree that the Pistols are overrated but I like them a lot more than the Ramones, The Clash will always be my favorite punk band though

[2] what zak said. I mean a song like Bodies is still as relevant today as it was back then
