I have listened to this album a half a dozen times over the years, and I can't for the life of me understand why it's as highly regarded as it is. Awful childish lyrics, awful vocals, terrible musicians for the most part.
It sounds worse as time passes.

"terrible musicians for the most part"
I get how you may hate the lyrics or the vocals, but Jimmy Chamberlain is one of the best drummers of the 90s, and Corgan's flashy riffs are as catchy as alt-rock can get

Yeah Chamberlin is literally my fave drummer lol

Yeah, I don't hear anything of value from Chamberlain. Standard stuff for the era.

Sorry... Chamberlin. He'd be Danny Carey's roadie.

Ahh a stuck up Tool fan

Can't deal with Tool, they're one of those bands who write 8-minute songs with like 3 minutes of content dragged out

One can separate the musician from the band. Danny Carey is just an evolutionary drummer, Chamberlin is as generic as it gets. Should I have used Brann Dailor, Sean Reinert or Tomas Haake instead?

Do you know how to mention drummers that arent from modern Prog Metal/Rock bands?

I love tool but like fuck dude, this guy's a trained jazz drummer fucking up rock tracks like nobody's business...
Check "Set the Ray to Jerry" if you need further proof of this dude's talent

I mean Chamberlain's good enough where he did a drum training video with Terry Bozzio and they seemed pretty equally matched, and Bozzio's a legend

"Set the Ray to Jerry" is amazing and the drums and bass on that song are some of the Pumpkins' best

Bring "jazz trained" is a meaningless argument. Hundreds of drummers graduate from jazz programs every year.
As a bass player, I'll ignore the comment about "Set the ray to Jerry". 😁
Not sure how thinking someone is generic is being pretentious, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

Oh and Bozzio is a legend, however I'm going on the work Chamberlin did with this band, and it's generic. Cl
