Had a lot of personal stuff come up that pretty much cut all my movie going desire until recently, Chappie and Ex Machina were both on the list and I definitely want to still see them at some point.

The new Avengers I'm kinda "meh" towards, I know I'll like it and that it'll be fun just not in the mood.

Age of Ultron is pretty much what the first one was, which is perfectly fine. I loved both of them but it's not as if it's going to change you opinion on the MCU or anything.

Chappie was passable, it wasn't good but it wasn't really bad either. The last 30 minutes were pretty obnoxious though.

"He uses the name JXL in cases where the term "Junkie" might cause offense"

lmfao

I've heard that about Chappie, still want to check it out though.

@Potsy - Yeah you can definitely tell the bio is a bit old, I was really surprised that he's done so many film scores when I checked wikipedia, the guy's really been busy.

Chappie is in itself entertaining. Whether or not it's actually good or bad is up for debate. I thought Elysium was better.

I wasn't too much of an Elysium fan, seeing it twice was enough (though I really liked the score) and I didn't feel that it got any better.

i didnt hate elysium as much as many ppl seemed to. it wasnt a good movie or anything but it was mindlessly entertaining and i liked watching people explode.

I understand why people wouldn't like Elysium. Plotwise it's pretty weak but most of the performances and the overall action were pretty good.

Yeah I think since I saw District 9 without any idea of what I was in for seeing the same name(s) attached made me have high expectations. I liked the tech and parts of the world, just not how they wove it all together.

Well Neill Blomkamp is doing the next Alien movie. We'll see how that turns out.

I'll definitely catch that one, really love the universe and original film(s). District 9's documentary style took me by surprise but by the end it was far too fitting and I couldn't imagine the film doing it any other way.

@Potsy that's what people are certainly saying.

honestly initially i was just planning on seeing this because there were rumours the batman v superman trailer would be attached to it but then it leaked online and i was like "welp whatever then" but when i saw Age of Ultron or It Follows (doesnt matter but it was one of the two) they played a trailer for Mad Max and i was like oh fuck I actually do want to see this
