I mean the horror was ok, but certainly nothing that would entice me to check out anything else by these guys

I just watched a music video before I saw them and had low expectations. They were so good, I might have to just get their entire discography. I was too shitfaced by the end of the show to remember to pick up a copy of this.

Literally just checked these guys out, and I can't believe I didn't give them a chance before. So good.

Montreal, their support for deafheaven, wished they were headlining

for anyone who hasn't heard it, they did a cover of "One Hundred Years" by The Cure during the sessions for this and it's pretty killer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQqhcAlQRl4

I am surprised by the year end list appearances of this album
|

'fun' is definitely the operative adjective when describing this

"I am surprised by the year end list appearances of this album"
It's always refreshing when an extreme metal band can sound fun and good at the same time
I'll have to check Formulas I guess. I heard these guys back when they released The Horror and forgot about them until now. Don't know why, The Horror was pretty great, if a little unoriginal, from what I remember.

A lot of thrash bands can pull it off pretty well but otherwise I don't feel like "fun" is a descriptor that comes around very often when describing extreme metal
