I love seeing people discover Glass in the Trees for the first time, it slaps ....but why is there no love for Molotov here?
also the drumming on this album is straight up fantastic. Josh is just all over the kit with all these rapid fire fills and deceptively tricky grooves

I will have to give the drums a little more attention. I usually listen to vocals the most on this album.

The Dream Club Murders is a good place to start, though obviously yes Brandon has a great voice, both for cleans and screams

I fuckin love his harsh vox. That almost demonic raspy sound is awesome. Gives me the same vibe that Zao and Jimmy Ryan from Haste the Day/Trenches have.
Did it take anyone else a while to notice that the intro is played under the verse riffs on T/t? I don't think I realized it until I learned how to play the song way back when.
Probably why I never noticed the awesomeness of the drums. Just listening to Brandon do his thing.

I feel like every single nostalgic band I go to has Ecnalzen and Source in the recent comments. Anyways, album slaps yada yada yada

I am jamming Blindside at the moment, but now this is sounding pretty good, too. Time for shuffle mode!
Were you into this stuff when they were current or get into them later, em?

I got into these guys later, but Blindside was my jam back in the day. I tended to be more into the metal stuff than the post-hardcore

I think Atreyu was my first mxc band, then Bullet for My Valentine (Poison) and Killswitch is in there somewhere too when My Curse got massive
I heard Pitiful back when the music video was making rounds. I forget when I actually picked the album up but I would guess it wasn't too long after hearing the song since, you know, it rules and all
I specifically remember buying this album at a Warped Tour back when New Medicines was a single/video

"I think Atreyu was my first mxc band, then Bullet for My Valentine (Poison) and Killswitch is in there somewhere too when My Curse got massive"
Underoath was the band that really got me into metalcore. Before that it was all hard rock and nu metal.
I hope Source returns to us one day soon [2]

If you like those songs, I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy the rest, outliers
I was super into pop/punk starting out, like Blink, Offspring, Rise Against. Thrice's IoS was my first taste of phxc and what a wonderful appetizer, entree, and dessert it was all in one. I was also on a big alt/rock kick back then, like Anberlin and Classic Crime. Loved me some Tooth'n'Nail back in the day
And, of course, there is the mainstay that is Chevelle and all the wonderfulness they have given since The Red graced us with it's presence

Man, "New Medicines" (the song) is an absolute banger to this day. Back in the day, it would get stuck in my head, and I didn't even know the name of the song or who it was by...I just knew that I had it in my music library somewhere. Still jam it to this day.
"Loved me some Tooth'n'Nail back in the day"
BOI, that label (and its sister/mirror Solid State) is responsible for SO MUCH of my music taste. Basically the 30% that wasn't spawned from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, lol. Anberlin, Emery, He Is Legend, Underoath, Demon Hunter, Norma Jean, Blindside, Dead Poetic, Far-Less, The Classic Crime...man, the DAYS!

will def check all of this
I was an angsty little 13 year old when I found these guys in my From first to last, Silverstein, scary kids scaring kids, senses fail etc days lol
Also can confirm Solid state had an extremely heavy influence on my musical taste growing up

@Emim YES...Tooth & Nail used to put out samplers EVERYWHERE. It's probably why I got so into them.
