So had a listen on my way into work this morning. I'd rate this between a 3.5 - 4, closer to awesome

That New Years Resolution of yours Daniel is gonna make you lose perspective. You need to connect back with the people.

And judging by your rating for this album, half of your ratings will be wrong. ;-)

Great review Davey, convinced me to check this out. With that said it's not my thing, I've never really liked the nasal screamy-singing approach of bands like Circa Survive/Saosin, which is generally what tree this seems to be barking up. I'm sure fans of Emery would love this though - oh wait, this all suddenly makes sense now! ; )

Thought it might not be Sowing... I wouldn't necessarily compare this singer to Anthony Green myself, but Cove-era Saosin isn't far from the mark at all.

Emery comparisons? Yeah, a bit. Although Emery tend to go to further extremes when it comes to both the melodic and screaming nature of their vocals.

I think you're just trying to get me to make my recos section even longer!

That was my goal all along! Nah, but you know better than I do. I gave this one listen. I also don't have the most experience with this style, so maybe that's why some of my comparisons feel like a reach.

As much as I like SWS well enough, this is better than anything they've released... Even that excellent EP they released a few weeks back.

Early contender for my AOTY, though like you this is unashamedly exactly my kind of music. Those last few seconds of "The Air In Me" get me every time. Just a really good album throughout.

Hey, pleasing the target audience as well as these guys have is an achievement in itself. Despite a few people saying the songs sound too alike, many tracks bring something different to the table. 'The Air In Me' is a great example. Not only that ending, but it's a borderline drum solo at the beginning.
