Vocals remind me a little of Opeth.
Really digging this. Anyone know why they have a different bassist for each disc - did one leave mid recording this album?

Also would like to see them tour with Haken.

They had a youtube progress video when they got the new bassist, and from the tone they used it seemed like the other one left of his own accord. Not 100% certain though

"Australian pseudo-prog(literally the worst genre of all time)"

Australia sure does love prog

@Voltimand Opeth? Haken for sure...maybe even Leprous. But Opeth?

"Australian pseudo-prog(possibly the best genre of all time)" - fixed that for you pal ;)

Holy shit... 1st song in, and this sounds like a way better Akashic. Also plenty similarities to stuff like Leprous or Riverside.

Really good album but a bit hard to taki in due to its length. Listened extensively this morning, will do again after relistening to The Mountain m/

Maybe, definitely top 10 material though, who knows.

I'm positive and say this will not be the best album we'll hear this year. Besides, new Riverside ahead!

Really don't care for this vocal style. Music sounds really sweet though.

What annoys me with this album is the cover. I always hated covers with while color all over them. They make the music sound empty to me. That's why I opt not to pay any attention to it while listening.

Also it looks like Periphery's cover album and nobody wants to be mistaken for Periphery

I really can't understand the hype on this album. Production sounds stale, guitar tones are bland and mixed such that you can't really make out parts, the lyrics are cheesy, and the writing/composition is nothing we haven't seen before. This album could have come out ten years ago and it would still be just average. Today? Terrible.

Disk one is a hard 4 imo. However I do feel this is 2 hours of this is excessive especially after getting to disk 2 where the album loses steam.

Yeah I'm currently jamming them separately, 'Learned' is a nice modern prog rock record with mellow ambience
and great melodies but both of them in a row is a massacre
I'd say Known is a hard 4 as well and Learned a 3.5
