It does sound a bit familiar.
On another note, doesn't everyone else think that "The Pot" is such single material?

^ I agree. Out of all the songs on the album, The Pot seems to be the only other song on the album that is single material.

I think Right In Two could also be a single, but it would need to be cut a lot for air play. The Pot would be excellent, as its not only catchy and wouldnt have to be cut, but also has strong political messages that I feel its important people hear. I know a lot of people find politics & music shouldnt mix, particularly with the commercialisation/current popularity of political music, e.g. Green Day, but I feel Tool are beyond all that sh1t and are trying to spread a message they genuinely believe in.

Politics and music go hand to hand. Thats the best way to speak horrid about our corrupt gov. and Tool does this the best. Being bluntly honest about the crap that they put us through.

i agree and disagree at the same time. disturbed has a superb amount of knowledge about politics and thier CD - Ten Thousand Fists shows that a lot.

The album is great. NOT as good as Lateralus, (yes, we've all said it) but be happy with it. Be glad they even came out with an album.

Lateralus is highly over rated. Nowhere near worth the praise some of you give it.

pretty decent album, but like a lot of people i like their previous work a little more. and is it just me, or does anyone else think this band and the singer in particular are extremely overrated? i do like tool, but i feel like they get a little too much credit sometimes.

great review and great cd. 10,000 Days has grown on me so much over the past couple days. I love the storm and rain in the background of 10,000 Days (Wings pt 2.), it adds that special ambience and almost a new spectrum of percussion to the track.

^Thanks.
I gave it a high rating because I was listening to this as an actual album rather than comparing it to Lateralus, which is a masterpiece.
I just hate hearing from people saying alot of crap about this album just because "it's not as good as Lateralus"
Of course it wasn't going to top Lateralus, it's always hard to come up with an album after your last album is an instant classic.
In my opinion, all I'm saying is that this is a brilliant album, even if it isn't near as good as Lateralus, as I haven't stopped listening to 10,000 Days since I got it.

i just dont understand how you can give Jambi a higher rating than Vicarious. they maybe be equal, but Jambi is definitely not better than Vicarious.
Also, 10,000 days is how many days Jesus lived on earth, and much of the song is in the voice of God talking to Jesus. Maynards mom is still alive. Wings for Marie is definitely abt his mother though. good first review

foreverendeared, the reason that I gave Jambi a higher rating than Vicarious is because, sometimes Vicarious can be a little bit repetitive after you listen to if for God knows how many times.
Though, it doesn't mean that it gets crap after you've listened to it, it means that it may start to get annoying after a while.
Oh, and by the way, Maynard's mom IS dead. The 10,000 Days part was that she was paralyzed for 27 years (10,000 days) before she died.
