i dont know i feel like theres two types of metal core. the converge category and the unearth category. one leans closer to hardcore and the other to metal. i think if you separate them that way then yes is the answer to your question.

that chugging intro on Lifetime In Ruins is a chore to sit through, and then if that wasnt bad enough they follow it up with shitty spoken word. in fact, its just overall kind of a bad song.

the opening riff on From the Tombs is ridiculously similar to a riff in When Life Meant More by All Shall Perish. probably an accident, but its almost the same thing. ASP's version is a little more interesting though.
