I've jammed American Football

No rating doesn't equal no listen. I haven't re-rated everything since my ratings wipe in 2013.

I don't understand the point of a rating wipe exactly. You can change individual ratings if they change over time so why wipe everything, especially if you have hundreds of ratings?

I had so many individual ratings I didn't like

Ah. Hopefully I won't have to go through something as tedious sounding as that.

I like this. It kind of goes the same direction as New Found Glory did with Home. It's obviously still the same band but they definitely take it in a more 'mature' contemporary direction. It's going to probably take the same mindset and repetition to enjoy too.

Just relistened to these songs for this list thing. Lots of memories. I didn't listen to 5 much because it came out when I was 18, though.

1. Paper Walls - You and Me and One Spotlight, Paper Walls
2. Lights and Sounds - Holly Wood Died, Martin Sheen or JFK
3. Ocean Avenue - Believe, Only One
4. One For The Kids - Starstruck, Cigarette
5. WYTTSY - Be The Young, For You and Your Denial

Sowing continues to be my favorite writer. Not going for a Lexile mark of 1400, just being genuine and eloquent.

I love ranking stuff: OA > SA > LAS > PW > WYTTSY

wonderful review, SS. here's hoping i like this as much as you. i'm liking one bedroom but that's probably because you explicitly said it's similar to their old style :p

i think i'm going to like this though, i always did like nathan young's anberlin songs after all. if his creative presence is felt here, this should be a steady 3.5, at least

I started with OA but to be honest there's no best way to start. If you are really committed, I recommend starting from the beginning of the band's discog - but even here, I'd skip the ones before Ryan Key and just start with One For The Kids.

It's decent advice, I'd recommend a similar path if not starting from the beginning.
