I get a cursive feeling from some of these tracks. Am I wrong.

For sure, album takes you places

I listened to a few of this bands songs sporadically over the years(their most recent outings) but never became inspired to actually listen to an entire album until I just heard a song from THIS album.

Which song?
|
| |
The first track of the album. After hearing that song I check the rating on this site as well as another site and saw this album had the highest rating. If any of the songs are as good as the first one I believe I'll be in heaven.

Ah cool - I think you're in for a good time, considering that the first isn't even a highlight imo. I would rank the album something like this:
Relative Ways
Baudelaire
Days of Being Wild

Homage
How Near How Far
Monsoon
It Was There That I Saw You
Another Morning Stoner
Heart in the Hand of the Matter

Off this?
How Near How Far is definitely my favourite, Relative Ways, Homage and Baudelaire run it pretty close. Only ones I'm not huuuuge on are the closer and It Was There
|
| |
agreed on the closer. seems a little awkward. it seems like everyone lists relative ways as either their favourite or top 3. it's a really catchy and fun song but idk, there's so much great stuff here. or maybe i've just played it to death

It's beautifully instrumental but the vocals are a bit shaky on it
Just love the passion in his voice on Relative Ways plus it has some of the best lyrics
|
| |
also how near how far is probably my favourite too. it was there, monsoon, and the title track are all up there too

Love Monsoon for how it sounds absolutely nothing like a TOD song but it does disrupt the flow a little bit
How Near How Far is one of the best songs of this century so far
|
| |
idk why i had this at a 4.5; this might be my favourite album ever
