But if it's been done to death from what you've experienced, then of course you might start to take a disliking in it.

it really hasn't been done to death, and i don't care if there was some earlier concept or w/e. that's like disliking the hunger games because battle royale preceded it. the concept isn't original, w/e (i mean wtf is these days?), i'm more concerned with the characters and how they develop, the world they're in, and the stunning visual effects. there certainly aren't a lot of vigilante films like watchmen

It wasn't that the hunger games wasn't original or whatever. I actually really liked the whole concept of it, but it's just how it's done and the whole cliche ending like "yeaaah, we beat the bad guys!". That personally takes away from the experience, but can be justified if there's less of a focus on storyline, like a movie such as reservoir dogs, but hunger games is kinda mostly about the storyline. And if it isn't, it's not filmed well enough!

Yeah, but I'm taking it out of the context and judging that installment for what it is. It was still really predictable and fairly cheesy

hans zimmer is obviously the best composer in this day and age. an genius in every sense of the word. much love and respect

People itt not realising that every thing that Watchmen apparently rips off was actually something that was ripped from Watchmen

the argument i wanted to tackle was new doesn't necessarily = better

watchmen was very inventive for its time, but i wasn't sure if something like it came before it

Hans Zimmer has always been overrated. His score for True Romance was outright unlistenable.

Oh come on, his soundtracks for pirates and Sherlock Holmes was and are still amazing

Tose alone made me respect him as a composer. I'll admit that I haven't heard a whole lot of his other stuff though
