I like Sparklehorse most on the heavier songs, but it's pretty much all good.

Eyepennies on Radio Sessions ❤
I can imagine Linkous: "Yeah, we need to slow this song wayyy down. I don't feel it's funereal enough."

This is really frickin' good
Keep all your crows away
Hold skinny wolves at bay
In silver piles of smiles
May all your days be gold, my child

Band is so good, I prefer their first two records though

Hmm, I definitely find this one a clear step ahead of those two. My ranking is Wonderful Life > Vivadixie > Good Morning Spider > Dreamt For Light Years

“Sea Of Teeth”, “Eyepennies”, and “Morning Hollow” are best.

"Eyepennies" and "Morning Hollow" are up there too, the latter deserves way more than to be a hidden track

He rereleased it as a free track on the follow-up album but it works so much better as the closer here. But for playlisting/solo playing purposes there is that at least.

Current thinking on top 5 Sparklehorse tunes from the first three albums (still haven't heard Dreamt for Light Years):
1. More Yellow Birds
2. Sunshine
3. Maria's Little Elbows
4. Gold Day
5. Rainmaker
Thoughts?

"Sunshine", "Maria's Little Elbows" and "Gold Day" are definitely up there. "More Yellow Birds" is an interesting pick for number 1, that's one of my least favorites here. "Rainmaker" is ok but I haven't warmed to most of his "rock" songs.

Make your case for Cruel Sun.

Cruel Sun is so damn amazing usually I play it twice in a row at full volume - easily his best 'heavy track'
One of my favourite rock choruses, well when it gets to the full chorus 'It's crawling, still aaall in, beeeeefallen, cruel sun {shred}' - sounds like screaming into a wind tunnel, just a song only Linkous could deliver, vocally and in guitar playing as a combo
