my issue with the new one is it sounds like an album someone might make if they were humbled by some deep, spiritual encounter (like, dying and meeting god or something like that) but without really reaching into the depths of such a thing. i wish it were more abstract/psychedelic/weird and affecting. mind u, i only listened once, so maybe i'll see it differently after more spins
