This album doesn't ever grow on you. I still like the first five songs. That's it.

I just like one of the songs on here. Unfortunately, I like it quite a bit. However, the rest of the album is fairly contrived- it feels totally like something I've heard before... and done better before, at that.
However, I don't think it's quite worthy of total hate. I'll probably end up giving it a 2.5/3 because at least it's listenable for the most part.

This band is just a piss poor mash up of influences

The people trying to defend this are just making me cringe in the process. Only person who did a good job was the reviewer so far in defending why he enjoyed some of this.

Yeah, A Lot Like Birds does the spoken word thing much better.

The only people I know who like this are a couple years younger than me and aren't old enough to remember the epic melodic hardcore wave from the mid '00s, it's not that it's terrible, it's just really unoriginal and uninspired, it's a cool sound in general, but it's been pulled off a thousand times better a thousand times before.

Also their singer's voice is terrible.

i saw post-rock/hardcore as the genres, got excited I might find another MovMou/DSHS/Elijah/Touche type band but this isn't it lmao
Jesus dude, you gotta listen to Envy.

Guys come on, I'm reading some of these comments about how it's even Worse than Dear G-D etc. That's personal opinion, not fact. I personally loved Dear G-d but I would never claim it's one of the best albums I've owned in recent years and that everyone is insane for disliking it, but the way some people are wording this is just unfair and gives people the wrong impression.

People are being unfair for calling out a band that steals music from other bands on being unoriginal?
Dude stop fanboying and listen to more music in this vein...

He made an account just to say that too.

I just don't get newjacks getting so bh about bands they like getting called unoriginal, like I used to defend BMTH and Atreyu all the time, but I at least admitted they ripped off TBDM and In Flames respectively.

The spoken word vocals seem replicated from Listener, but it was just the bashing of it. I enjoy Dear G-d, and I don't think it's a bad album as such. It just that's it's bad because it's been ripped off?

The Poets Cry For More is a really good song. I haven't heard their first album yet. I don't really
like the clean vocals on this very much but they're not terrible. Just very generic. The spoken word
part is definitely my favourite part of this album. I've listened to Listener as well but I guess I
prefer the voice of this singer to Listener. I guess he does sound a bit like Listener though. Don't
know if he's trying to copy him, maybe it's just the natural way for him to do the spoken word? It
doesn't sound to me like he's trying to copy him but that's just my opinion I guess. Album is okay.
edit: oh lol this is my first comment ever apparently.
