"Poor Twisted Me for the worst Metallica song ever. That or Purify."

St. Anger= Patron saint of let downs.

The songs weren't that bad, although I think some of them could have used a solo. IMO it's the production job Bob Rock did; it's absolutely horrible. Maybe he should have told Lars to turn on his snare, and then tell James "uncrazy" isn't a word...

EDIT: Even though this album was pretty bad, I have high hopes for the next album coming out in August. I know I shouldn't, but I can't turn my back on Metallica because of one bad album. Oh, did you know someone gave this a 5?This Message Edited On 04.05.07

I liked this album, I think it's much better than what everyone makes it out to be imo. Although I know we all would much rather have the old Metallica back, I think the change in their sound and direction may be not such a bad thing after all. This is an album that will lose alot of fans, but gain plenty. I wouldn't call it selling out either. It's just simply a band growing older. You have to remember these guys were in their 20's when they made MOP and AJFA, that was 20 years ago now, I mean of course there is going to be changes, for better or for worse. James was 24 when they recorded AJFA, now he is turning 45, He would have a different outlook on life and the world now than he did back then, and that will come through in his music, and that's the same with the other guys. Sure St Anger is no Master Of Puppets, but if this is the way Metallica wants to go, then we all should respect them for that. This Message Edited On 05.03.08This Message Edited On 05.03.08

^ I meant in a sense of being a more accessible album to new fans, And I understand where you're coming from Josh. I meant in a way that people might like the new sound, but don't like the old stuff. And yeah it's not a great album, no where near it, but it will appeal to a new audience.

I don't think this gained fans. If this is the first Metallica someone hears, they will think they suck.
This is the first metallica album i heard and i liked it a lot more back then then i do now

I actually can! It's suprising, everyone talks about how horrible the snare is, but it really doesn't hit me. I think it's unique.
