Nick, I agree with your rating and argument skeleton, but frankly, I'm surprised by this article's poor grammar and sentence structure. Just to be fair, I'll offer an example:
"Opening track "This Is A Trick" and album highlight "Bitches Brew" both never fail to deliver in these qualities and most of the record also excels in variety and dark atmosphere."
Both never fail? This is one of many examples of unnecessary wordiness. "Album highlight "Bitches Brew" delivers" succinctly transitions to your argument's next point, but which qualities do you speak of? You mentioned catchy choruses in the last sentence, but which other quality do you mean? Shouldn't be plural, then. "and most of the record" marks a run-on sentence. This entire sentence is a mess!
Editing is tough, but your article could benefit greatly from some more revision.

Well no one else has said anything to me about it. Fixed up that sentence a little bit thanks for pointing that out. I always encourage criticism, but not a lot of people really said anything to me about this one. If you see anymore please point them out thanks.

Well, I accept the possibility (probability) that I'm a bit of an ass and perhaps knit-picking. I must apologize if my criticism came off as personal, my only intention was to help clarify. I might suggest removing more adverbs if you find them redundant. My only concerns revolve around turning already-good writing into great writing, (speaking succinctly and arguing clearly). You do write well.

Oh absolutely, you could have been a dick but you weren't. I always encourage any type of rational critiques. Again, if you see anymore of that stuff point it out. It's easier for other's to spot errors or bad sentences than the actual reviewer ya know?

It seems that anything that involves Chino Moreno is almost a work of musical magic. Not saying he's absolutely perfect, but this, Team Sleep and Deftones have all proven to be successful projects. This isn't the sort of thing I listen to on a daily basis, but I still think it's an excellent album, and especially for a debut. My personal favourites are "Trophy" and "Telepathy".

Chino is one of my favorite singers. He's the draw of this for me.

Yeah I agree. I would definitely like to hear more from this particular project in the future though.

Chino definitely draws me to anything he does. This just so happens to be terrific as well. Same with Team Sleep, one of my favorite albums.
But I wouldn't say anything Chino does is magic. I'm not a fan of Palms

Yea man I was disappointed in Palms. That type of stuff is usually up my alley but nothing about it really worked

Chino seemed pretty out of place because of the effect they kept using on his voice. I didn't really like the production either :/

sounds fine you prob got a shitty download

No it's not that the production was bad, it just didn't work is what I mean. It just sounded kinda, small I guess. But to each his own.

I think I'd be more into this album if each of Chino's projects had a wider variety of sounds. The man's busy enough, you'd think he could be more creative, push boundaries a little more. It's good, not excellent.
