With all of the good instrumental stuff going on these days, I see absolutely zero appeal to this album other than the name of the band.

Yeah I think they'd do better with a new vocalist. This was fine but they're capable of much more. Empire Theory was great instrumentally, if they brought that energy back they could come out with something really great. Maybe it would take another vocalist in order to do that

post-rock fun times. Never listened to any of the old stuff so I can't comment on whether the vocals would/would not make this band better, but this album seems fine without them. Standard post-rock doesn't need vox to be fun times and this is fun times already so vox be darned.
