Yeah same tbh lol. Beneath the Remains is like top 3-5 thrash for me and I love Arise and Schizophrenia too.

"Does Casavir have a terrible opinion on every thread?"
I like how I'm getting this from someone that thinks Beneath the Remains is worse than this.

"Add this stunning example of thrash history to your collection for its unbridled hate"
More of an accurate description for something like Inside the Unreal as far as '93 death/thrash is concerned.

This was my first CD purchase (before then cassettes remember) so I have a soft spot for it - musically it may be roughly even with BTR and below Arise for me but the nostalgia factor, the fact I’ve listened to it a few hundred times, means a 4

"musically it may be roughly even with BTR"
Beneath the Remains actually has good riffs though.

Album Rating: 4.5
well yeah this is more them starting to go rhythmic as the primary drive rather than melodic riffs so I don't think this album was meant for your sensibilities maybe
I'd just listen to the drumming on this and 'Roots' and have a good time

"This is classic"
An album that was made solely for the purpose of chasing doggedly on Pantera's coattails while also basing their sound off of one of Pantera's dullest releases the preceding year = classic.

this is different to BTR - it's not even trying to be the same thing
One of the best metal updates in sound for the mid '90s - look at Slayer, Anthrax and Metallica for what can go horribly wrong trying to do the same thing.
