Agree that it's important, but I think good music will lead us to interesting artwork more often than the other way around

And avoiding music with bad artwork, while unavoidable to some extent, tends to undermine what albums are all about, I think

yeah but why put yourself in that position if you can avoid it unless you're trying to intentionally make a statement which i doubt is what's happening here

Yeah, I'd agree for sure. Artwork is a chance for an artist to give a bigger picture of what the music is about, and it's a damned shame when they don't take advantage of that. But-- and I haven't heard this record yet, but the artwork for this doesn't surprise me considering the band's other work-- maybe the music is simple in the retro way the artwork implies.

Sure, there are better ways the group could've gone about it (and part of this, of course, is just personal pref,) but I'm not put off by this record at all from its artwork. On top of that, I actually find something refreshing about a cover as simple as this one
