I only have 3 Cheers and I've heard most of the stuff on I Brought You My Bullets and I've been trying to find a place to buy it.

I don't really like My Chemical Romance very much but the video for helena was pretty good

Oh man what a horrible album. All the songs sound the same. Plus, live they suck. They're all about image.
Neither me nor my friend are big emo fans, but he swears by this band. He tells me that they're not just another emo-lameo band, that they're cool and different. I still don't see it, they sound like The Used, but darker. You seemed impressed, perhaps all need to give it a listen. thanks Kif!
You don't have any idea what emo really is. My chemical romance may be everything, but not emo.

Looking at the Dischord Records line-up is basically looking at emo.

I just have to say that the video for I'm Not Okay is probably my favorite video ever, just because I'm a big fan of movies like that...hell, it's good enough to grace my Myspace (I know, I know, Myspace sucks) ;)

i found out about my chemical romance ages ago! i then told my mates and then they all got into them and got this album. After a while i thought i shud get it after all i was the guy who introduced MCR to them. And i have to say that it is a good album, but i think i have to get their first album cause that is the stuff i heard first before they came into the mainstream. good review though, sums it up and all.

MCR is pop punk with whiny emo lyrics and mascara and ghostly face paint. Basically, they are a tool, used by record companies, to sucker people into buying their bad, trashy albums. On the bright side, they did play one good guitar solo when I saw them live at Taste of Chaos. (Though Saosin was at least 300 times better than them OR the Used, who also suck.)

Meh, they're better than the other "tools". Ray Toro pulled off "The Star Spangled Banner" pretty well, which was the highlight of their opening set for Green Day.

MCR is NOT emo.

They're pop punk.

I liked their first album, this one disappointed me. Basically they sold out to get popular with 12 year old girls, which they did well.

This was the CD that got me into emocore, although I still haven't found anything this good. Overall, an awesome record - better produced than their debut, but still with a raw magnetism. All of the tracks are strong (although "Interlude" is really just an intro to "Venom"), but the best are probably "Give 'Em Hell, Kid", "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison" and "Hang 'Em High". Overall, an incredible listen that everyone who's bored with pop-punk should try.

"Didnt Bert McCracken of The Used do some vocals on this cd?"

Bert did sing with Gerard live for YOu Know What they do to Guys like us in Prison, because (soo I read in a magizine article of MCR) that Gerard written it because Bert and himself cleaned out a Hotel Mini-Bar and were p*** drunk..

And also, I really wouldnt consider MCR Pop Punk.. GC is Pop Punk, Simple Plan is Pop Punk, Relient K Pop Punk... MCR not POp Punk, nor emo, or hardcore... Soo I just consider than Punk i guess?

I, without a doubt prefer 'Bullets.' 'Three Cheers' is amazing, but it's as if it were a completely different band. That is how much I feel that the two albums differ. I love both C.D.'s though.

Yea, Great muscians, im just not all in for Bob (Drummer).. Does good in like 3 songs..

MCR is a great band overall, great lyrics, great vocals, top of a notch guitarist, blaring solos, and the bass is pretty good too..

I would say that maybe 'Thank You for the Venom', 'I Never Told you What I did for a Living', and 'Its not a Fashion Statement, its a Deathwish' are the best songs I think, on the CD..

And yes, MCR is more emo/hardcore, not close to pop punk..This Message Edited On 07.19.05

Okay, I was gonna keep quiet, but you've disturbed the slumber of the beast. The lyrics are NOT GOOD. They're terrible. They're meaningless. Explicate a song please. Oh, you can't, because they're just a bunch of words awkwardly mashed together in order to sound epic and poetic. FAILURE. I've been good with language all my life. This is trash

And no. no no no. They're not talented. They write pop-rock garbage in the tradition of ... say, the White Stripes, Blink 182, Nickelback, and Audioslave. Their instrumentals? AGH. I play guitar. I've played the drums alot. These guys are average at best. They have one solo that i heard live that I was reasonably impressed with, but that's about it. And the drums are... well, let's put it this way - Listen to Josh Freese with the Vandals/A Perfect Circle, or Danny Carey from Tool, or Neil Pert from Rush and get back to me.
