What is the best record to start with if I've never listened to a Rush album before?

Just follow my discog review and determine how much you like their stuff from there :]

Switch failed and bunch of nodes went down, finally finished the s/t. Good but kind of generic when compared to other music that had been released around the same time, though I have no idea if Rush were the pioneers. Great guitar work, stood out the most for me. I've always heard they progress quite a bit through their albums, so I'm excited to check out the rest.

I like Train of Thought a lot, but this still annihilates it

Well it's not so much that this is special to me (although it is) it has more to do with the fact that I think Train of Thought is one of the worst displays of musical wankery in DT's discography. Having said that it does have some decent moments and I do still enjoy some tracks from it.

I'm content with it thanks. For the time being anyway.
