Oh well.
I figure that this album should mean a huge improvement for the idiots instant 1'ing every AA release. Shame that most never bother to ever listen to albums they hate on.

well you are right moreira, i did took the time to listen completely to this album before making this review,so its not just an angry rant. It might look like, but to be honest, i really had nothing good or remarkable to stand out in my review about this album. I don't have anything against AA, i just think this album really was poor, The Death of Me was a bit of a standout, but that's it.

didn't think it was possible for a band to release three albums and literally not progress in the slightest.

yeah, one would normally expect them to actually get to somewhere after 3 albums. I was with little hopes for this album after hearing The Death of Me. I thought: maybe, just maybe they finally found their sound. But no.

I don't think the album cover is meaningless at all. It's just a matter of how you interpret or understand it, like art. Let me tell you how I interpret it.
The stripper in a vending machine (probably means paid sex) represents a man's death. It represents his past lifestyle; sex, drugs, parties, etc. On the other hand, the man walking through the hallway represents a man turning his back from his past and choosing to fulfill his destiny. Therefore the album is titled "From Death to Destiny".
As for the album's quality, I really enjoyed it. I think this is the best AA release so far. The lyrics are not profound and excellent, but definitely not below average. I'm also digging the new Slipknot or nu-metal-like growls and immensely improved clean vocals. I honestly think the vocal style is intentional too. Also less unnecessary breakdowns, better song structures. Overall, the band has matured a lot.
For me this album deserves a rating of 4.0. I know, most of you will disagree.

tim, i never saw it that way (refering to the album cover). It's just that last album really had a lot of sex/party/drugs lyrics that for many it is difficult to believe they have matured, as for the quality, i think their previous album had a better quality, given most for production values, but giving it a 4.0? you are right, most will disagree about that.

@spartanawasp lol how do i give scene fans a bad rep. first off i dont consider myself a scene fan that sounds stupid. What exactly did i say that gives you ''scene'' fellas a bad name. The cover simply represents turning down drugs and alcohol in favor of bigger better things as the band is trying to escape that image they use to be labeled as. Nah im not saying bad bands cant be big im saying they're doing something right since they're liked by many. And i hope you have better things to do other than post on a review six times.
@Oskrr1 alright i can accept that u dislike the bad/album all im saying is i dislike your review. agree to disagree.

"I could just go on and on about many other things that are wrong with this album, but there is just no point in doing so and would just be a waste of time, just as for many will be to listen to this album."
The point of a review is to comment on those things that make it good or bad, making this statement a little ironic. But it wasn't a bad review! It just needs a little more flesh and bones

Started a review for and lost it midway writing it. I'm angry.

That happened to me once, it's the worst. Do your reviews in Word then copy/paste, it's alot harder to accidentally exit.

I know I should do that but I'm such a dumbass sometimes.

do we really need a review to work out this is fucking terrible?
|
| |
I can already feel the flood of reviews for this looming in the distance
|
| |
to be fair, AA albums are a great place to learn how to write bad reviews, which are way harder than positive ones
|
| |
Yeah it's not too hard to thoroughly describe generic breakdowns and poppy choruses, maybe a few riffs in between, pretty much AA in a nutshell
