They are better

its not rlly fake string ensembles
there's a lot of great electronica and post rock out there that sometimes use digital strings that sound great
hated how they used them here. for me, it ruined a lot about this record

From what I read, they actually used a real string ensemble... for what its worth

They fit well in the songs, it's not like they feel out of place, but that's just my opinion. They're only in a few tracks anyway.

They used a real string ensemble you say? That makes me much happier.

I absolutely loved them. Many parts on Controller could've really benefited from some keys and synths... mis sigs are one of the few bands that can pull that off

Maybe they are just too prominent in the mix, and used too often. Also, I might be biased because I read some quote about their campaign being successful enough to "add in string arrangements"--just adds to the feeling they were kind of tacked on. They work really well in the intro, but some of the passages are just too symphonic metal sounding for my tastes.
Does anyone know who the guest vocalists are?

Ryan Morgan has done all backing vocals beforehand so that's my guess.

The cleans in "Everything Will Rust" are very distinctive. Pretty sure it's a guest spot. Could be wrong.

Pretty sure that's Schubach but don't quote me. Tbh the last track didn't do much for me so didn't feel like mentioning it, even though a lot people have been buzzing about it

So was it Karl or Ryan in "Ebb and Flow," etc? I always thought it was Karl. Really enjoyed them, either way. But neither of the clean spots on here sound like that person.
