Pleb's a bro, man.

His vocals weren't produced well here, I don't think. Even though Tommy's vocals aren't very strong (as in they just don't sound physically LOUD,) there are ways to work around that in the studio. His vocals just come across to me as monotonous for a lot of this, whether growls or singing.

I don't overuse 'neck', I'm no KILL.

I meant I was trying hard to be KILL. I commented using this acronym only: lol
Therefore i was replicating KILL's demeanor on the average "kill disapproved" thread.
I know Leb's a bro. But i'm not your man, bro.

I'm not your bro, guy.

It's odd that such a band of talented blokes would keep around such a rubbish vocalist like wtf

I'm not your fella, niggah.

And thus begins the destruction of a thread.

I'm not your fella, buddy

He probably provides a lot of creative input to their music-- so as nice as it sounds for them to find someone else, it'd change the way their music worked, for better or worse

Probably for the better.

Tommy's a great singer, but his screaming on this is nowhere as good as on Alaska or Colors.

I definitely understand your point, and agree to an extent. His growl doesn't sound very majestic and powerful, they could have some more oomph to them. Having that said, i still really like how they sound here, and love that tone.

I think it's his tone more than anything, and it's definitely monotonous and seems more focused on the lyrics than the feeling or sound.

Alright. Obviously I have work to do on this. I just ran this out in a fit of enjoying this album way too much. I'll do better next time. I still think it deserves the 5 rating, and while it my not be prog-metal at its best, I really believe that it is BTBAM at their best.
Also, by all the returning themes in 'Silent Flight Parliament', I'm meaning the altered version of a part of 'Lay your Ghosts to Rest', similar lyrics to 'Melting City', and of course the most obvious reiteration of the them from 'Astral Body'.
Thank you all seriously for being so honest about the review. This one really does need some work.

Also, could I get a list of albums you guys think are better? I'm not trying to challenge or anything; I'm actually genuinely interested in the opposing opinions, of which there seem to be many.

better prog metal than this?

I actually think The Great Misdirect is easily the best album these guys have made.
