Yea I wish they did have better vocals, doesn't bother me as much as some bands though.

I for one have come to love the vocals, but I only felt that way after a quite a few listens

I like all the cleans mostly but the harsh ones sometimes, maybe they sound too dry for me.

I see your point but I take it as raw and emotional. It kind of adds a unique texture

the cleans are what's killing me, the harsh vocals are at least bearable

It's definitely the hardest part of the album to get into

Not feeling this too much at the moment. Only my first listen though, so there's room to grow, but it's looking like 3 - 3.5 range.

Why does the snare drum sound so awful?

I think it's you, didnt notice it at all.

It sounds terrible dude.
Maybe I picked it up more because I'm a drummer, and specifically listen for the drums.

Could be, it wasn't like it really stood out to me as it did on oceanic

It's not a problem that's only on this album though, it's a relatively common sound that I just really dislike. So maybe to you it sounds fine, but it frustrates the hell out of me. Especially when it's such a dominant drum.

rather chaotic and clumsy. those drunken vocals are annoying and all got this jam-like feeling (in a bad way).

Their vocals have always been outstanding to me, yet they've always managed to do something different

It's definitely the most unique. I love how it sounds so raw and emotional, and how it works so well in contrast with where these guys are in life; from all the problems they've faced (alcohol, drug related problems), living in such a desolate town, but mostly how they've felt about the world around them; as if there life is coming to an end and that's it for them.
The album sort of transitions to how they've come in terms of accepting the way things are for them, which is evident in songs such as It Swarms "And the world moves on".
I find the vocals, as well as everything else to sound as if there is still hope through the depression of sound they've created.
This album comes off to me as honest and it doesn't try to be something it's not.
