haha no it didnt even have to do with him, i didnt even see them that night. i left after blueprint (who opened for them). but other shitty events transpired that i can't not associate with Atmosphere now and thus i get a bad taste in my mouth whenever I hear any of their tunes now.

Ohhh, okay, yeah, that sucks. But why could you tolerate Atmosphere more than Sadistik right now? I mean, there are a lot of similarities in their kinds of rap.

I'm sure if you introduced me to Atmosphere now there is a chance I'd hate them as much as I hate sadistik (my taste for hip-hop was just blossoming back when I listened to them and now it is years and years more refined) but at the same time even when I did like Atmosphere I usually cared more for the more upbeat songs... i'll find an example one sec

Like my favourite track was The Waitress. Super upbeat. It just irks me when super whiny lyrical content is presented super seriously and matched with really melancholy beats.
On the slug note tho here is a project of his that I still like a lot; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJIdEo8YOYs

I personally have no problem with some ABSOLUTE MELODRAMA. I think you just gotta present it well enough.
Maaaaaan, haven't listened to The Dynospectrum in years. Now I have something to revisit between digging into the Memphis-scene.

I mean i listened to sad ass atmosphere songs and cage when i was like 16 and broke up with my first girlfriend in highschool and had TOJ by el-p on repeat for like a month but I've grown way out of my angsty days and my taste has changed with that
hip-hop just isnt the genre i go to to feel like shit with, i listen to hip-hop to feel fuckin jive n shit. its my chillin every day kinda music.

the fact that this is by far my favourite hip-hop song of all time speaks for itself i think

We definitely have a different approach to Hip-Hop then. But I mean that's cool. I don't really
differentiate between shit, if you give me something and it resonates with me somehow it's cool in my
book. Edit: Slum Village are fucking awesome.

| |
I think my change in views on life has just alienated me from this kind of shit. I used to love eyedea and abilities too and now they make me cringe too
|
| |
Yeah, okay, I can definitely respect that. To each his own.
|
| |
i love self-depreciating shit when its tongue-in-cheek kinda 'if you can't laugh at yourself' shit like Why? and Milo etc tho
