There are things about this album that I like more than Songs for the Deaf. For one, I like how its only ten songs and every song is unique sounding and focused. This shows QOTSA is better at writing ten slightly longer than normal songs than making an album with 14 standard length songs because that's when the filler seems to happen. Some people like every single song on SFTD but there were some songs that could have been cut.

Yeah this album is just grand, If I had a Tail and I Appear Missing are easily amongst qotsa's best songs. In general everything is just so slick and sexy here it'd be hard for me to rate this below other qotsa albums. I'll just give it a few more spins but tis a very high 4 atm

The only track that does nothing for me is Smooth Sailing, just seems quite goofy and out of place.
