room of angel is superb yeah. i prefer the tracks without vocals, i love the melodies and dark atmosphere of tracks like fermata in mistic air

silent hill has always had pretty iffy gameplay imo, its all about the atmosphere, story, characters and music. More enjoyable when enjoyed as an 'interactive experience' than a 'game' for me if that makes sense

"its all about the atmosphere, story, characters and music"
I might also add puzzles, they are some of the main elements that make me love survival horrors

SH3 lacked in story a little bit, compared to the powerhouse SH2, but I'd argue it's the pinnacle of the series as a game visually, mechanically, and sonically. It's a fucking masterpiece.

Idk why everyone rides that SH 2 dick so hard. It’s an incredible game, but to dog on 3 the way some people do makes no sense to me. They’re both totally different games in terms of themes and atmosphere, and individually they excel in their own area of focus. I’ll always prefer 3 over 2, because while 2 was a depressive masterpiece, 3 was uncanny and a gauntlet of psychedelic horror. The soundtrack bounces between warm nostalgic tones and gnarly hellscapes, and it’s brilliant. I think even now, that game looks really damn good visually, and the general pacing is great. It’s like SH1 but 100% perfected and realized.

i've seen people straight up disregard SH1 because it's PS1, and then just not even bother with 3 because "i don't care about these characters lololol"
fuck offfffff

My issue with three is it's really repetitive in dialogue in regards to theme. Like every conversation with Claudia is exactly the same

Yea 3 looks the best of the silent hill games imo, aged super well and the older graphics add to the atmosphere (same goes for silent hill 1 and 2 to some extent)

Letter is such a great song but it's placed in one of the more plot critical cutscenes which is just baffling. I think an instrumental version would've been better suited tbh.
