also completely agree wrt personal pieces. it is very frustrating to pour your heart into something and have it largely ignored by this site. the problem i guess is that the conversation will always revolve around a "lol this is under the heading of a REVIEW??" when we all know that doesn't matter. but if the word exists and a quantification is neccessary it's bound to happen.



that or people just never read the stuff i submit here so it gets largely frustrating anyways ;(



this is a great piece, really interesting to read and honestly the kind of article abt music that's going to captivate me most.

my thoughts about this review:

broadening your musical horizons doesn't have to be painful. don't hold on to your taste like it actually means anything

you are the worst. it's a piece about music, and loving music, and all of the weird intricacies that can cause you to simultaneously love and hate a piece of music. if this is too high-brow for you then go back to ultimateguitar.com. this is a great piece of writing and god damn lakes you suck for not getting that.
