it took a bit to grow on me, but for real this and the two EPs are up there with Spiderland for me at this point

basically Slint without screaming and more emphasis on texture/mood

yeah, can confirm Barky barky

I kind of loved this. It definitely feels like a 'mood album' but this is a mood I imagine will resonate on quite a regularly basis for me personally, so that works. Cool

note: remembered the band name as 'For The Carnation' (which is probably easily done) and thought Sput was being Sput by not finding it

Also, where's that slowcore tag at? Weren't the new genre tags supposed to arrive this summer?

it is when core usually has a different 'meaning' in relation to music categorisation / terminology, aye

could've easily been the name given to sludge metal in a different universe, to illustrate this point

most genre names are pretty silly, but yeah, this one has to be right up there with the silliest

Bumped to a 5, fantastic album. Emp. Man's Blues is such a perfect opener: creepy and slow and with a magnificently understated climax. Middle two songs are obviously the weaker songs, but they're still good and help set the stage for Tales and Moonbeams.

How this is such a magnificent album. Slint meets Codeine meets Bowery Electric or something. Props to this site introducing me to yet another incredible under-the-radar record out of nowhere.
