@Yankee
This scene of dubstep, and a lot of UK bass music actually, is really focused on vinyl. The main reason for this is the DJ aspect of the scene, nothing sounds better than a fat slab of wax through an epic system. The artwork for these releases is almost always a circle because they don't come in a full cardboard record sleeve with artwork, you get the record in a paper sleeve and the only artwork is on the sticker in the center of the record, which is a circle

Yea I get that Jash. I get this is mostly about shows/dancing. But as a person who isnt really into that scene I guess its just a slight turn off. Maybe Im old fashioned but I just like full lps/eps with artwork, and not a slew of singles coming out constantly. I cant be fucked to keep up with with everything like that. But thats just me Im not trying to shit on your thing.

I wasn't saying you're shallow for liking artwork (I have a collection of over 110 records that I mainly buy for the full-size art, and have seven framed sleeves on my wall in my bedroom)
I was saying it's shallow or naive to dismiss something that doesn't. Love artwork and connect with it, but realize that the music is a completely separate thing, and shouldn't be dismissed because no one drew a picture for it.

"I get this is mostly about shows/dancing."
It's not about dancing, it's about the fact that when you hear sub bass (bass below 70hz which you won't even hear on most shitty speakers or headphones) through a proper sound system it will actually rattle your bones, that's how this music is meant to be heard

Not to mention all of the records do have a image or drawing of something on the b-side, so there is artwork it's just in a circle because vinyl>>>>>>

hearing this stuff on in the proper setting is life-affirming. all you nay-sayers hit me up after you've seen a DJ spin something like this through a proper system and tell me how much you care about the artwork.

ha alright. ive been to clubs where they played this kinda stuff though. its obv meant to be played on a big system but again you could say the same about most live music. go to a metal show and there will be mountains of amps and the riffs will flatten you where your ears will ring for days. thats a totally different thing than a studio album though. its 2 separate things unless you have studio level equip at home.

klap what show?
yankee - that's a decent point, but I would still argue that the whole "it's about the live show, spinning the vinyl" thing is way more relevant when talking about this music. it's honestly 10x better listening to it properly, and I still love the shit out of it when it's just me and my iPod headphones.
