elevator Mogwai - overused piano, absurdly obvious crescendos and a blatant lack of creativity. All these years I couldn’t understand what happened with the very disappointing ‘Hawk’ because I inexplicably missed this one out. Now I‘m beginning to understand.
Having said that, I probably would’ve enjoyed this back then.

I could probably say some of the same things about Rock Action / Happy Songs, but idk those albums have a certain charm (read: nostalgia?) to them and I like the glitches.

Mogwai are very nostalgic for me as well. I think this might actually be their 2nd best behind Happy Songs.

“The album has been described by Creation Records head Alan McGee as
...probably the best art rock album I've been involved with since Loveless. In fact, it's possibly better than Loveless.”
It’s a lot better than Loveless Alan

Mogwai makes the perfect music for the mundane grayness of everyday life imo.

Absolutely love this.
Listened to hardly anything but Mogwai for the last few days, it’s like revisiting me early twenties again.
This album is ridiculously underrated. The bands second best.

Travel is Dangerous sounds a LOT like an Oceansize song. If Vennart had a deeper, calmer voice.
