Robert Johnson's music has a sense of originality that has made him so timeless. There are different aspects in his vocal melodies and guitar that overlap, but his musicianship shines in this variations. The alternate takes shows that as well as studying his transcripts. I was a classical guitar performance major in college and I'm continually appreciating his finger style work as well as the non-conforming element of form and meter. For the diversity in style, innate talent with the interplay of accompaniment/melody, his genuine emotion, originality, and the influence he has had for over 80 years, I give his complete recordings an absolute Classic 5/5 rating.
