Great review. You just convinced me that Hawthorne Heights is awful, and that I shouldn't try listening to them. I was about to download some of their stuff off of the Internet, but since it seems so many people hate them, I won't even try them.
Thanks for the warning.

Heh, the kind of band that makes you want to beat up some teenagers. *shakes head* Kids today and their wacky 'feelings'...

I actually like this CD and the band. Where Can I Stab Myself In The Ears is awesome, really catchy.

HH and TBS = Pop Punk
How do you give an album a 0 or 0.5? I don't wanna know for this album, but so I can give their other one a low rating.

You can't give anything that low of a rating anymore.

^^really, how?
When that singer guy talks he reminds me of one of those hopelessly stupid guys on American Idol that you can't help but feel bad for.

American Idol contestents are better then these guys.

I am pursuing a degrees in political science/ international relations, and majoring in corporate science(our capitalist system) I was writing a term paper on mainstream music and how it is influenced by the larger corporations that own these businesses(Fat white-balding cigar chomping guys that sit around a table, easily comparable to tobacco executives). While my sources may be a little sketchy, I found that bands that are considered "Emo" or "mildly brooding" are hand picked regardless of most other factors except for if they fit well with the predetermined planes of mtv and it associates made months in advance to introduce a new "sound" to target "a 5th -12Th grade audience". Specifically, and I quote, "the average, angst full, middle class suburban teens and preteens." These companies often meet with clothing manufacturers ranging from hot topic to Hollister to cooperate in creating and again I will quote, "a mainstream 'underground' among the key demographic".
I’m just throwing this out there. You make up your own minds, but think about what your dollars can do when you buy things. I apologize that this has not much to do with any music rating, but I’m sure many of you will appreciate this.

No, actually, as plenty of bands that put out absolute garbage have had success.

They have a song called Where can I Stab Myself In The Ears. Not only does the title make me want to run into a wall, it answers it's own question! Im sorry for bashing this band so much, but they just completely piss me off.

I second Kripes' comment above - I saw them at the Kerrang! XXV tour and they sucked quite a bit. I remember my friend said "What the hell, THREE guitarists!?!" - then got shoved into a moshpit containing a converge of emos...I must admit the only band I enjoyed at that concert were Still Remains. Bullet For My Valentine are one of those bands I liked for a few weeks then began to detest.

Not really. Don't trust the media.

I agree with that review somewhat. I loved Hawthorne Heights whe ntheir single for "Ohio is for Lovers" came out. I automatically bought The Silence In Black and White. Then when I heard "Saying Sorry" I was upset. They had gotten more whiny and depressing. I bought the new CD anyways. Waste of money. Hawthorne Heights is good, but can improve big time.

Im going to see them live tonight as an unfortuneate side effect of A FOB and AAR concert.
It's not as all bad as it sounds. I get to give them the finger in person.
