there's also a 25th anniversary compilation which I just bought which has most of their best songs.
I grew up listening to them so there's not necessarily a particular album of there's that's my favorite just all their old stuff.

Bing (search engine) Crosby (artist name)
Google (search engine) Stills and Nash (artist name)
It took me a second or two to catch that, lol.
|
| |
Gotcha. Pretty much all their stuff is on Spotify so I thought I'd ask for a starting point.
|
| |
christmas is the best starting point (the one from 1984)
|
| |
Nice to see that someone is the Christmas spirit. Pos'd
|
| |
Thanks bach, i've been in the christmas spirit since before halloween lol
|

I go all out for Christmas, man. Just finished decorating with the folks a week ago. We always try to have the best looking house on the block.
|
| |
Sounds cool. yeah I don't go all out on decorations in my apartment haha but my family likes to go crazy with gifts. (last year my brother got me a ps3 with several games) lol.
So I try to get as many gifts for the fam as i can afford.
|
| |
Sounds great. I also still watch all of the essential Christmas specials with the family. It's just an all around great time of year. Which reminds me, I have to change my avatar.
|
| |
of course man. watching the rudolph speical tomorrow with the family and fiance. you're never too old for that shit.
|
| |
I really hate Christmas music with a passion, but this is rather soothing. Probably the only Christmas music I intend to hear for the whole year if I can help it.
|
| |
damn what's up with everybody on this site hating christmas music? Glad you at least like Crosby though I know what u mean about his voice being soothing. Silent night is usually overly sappy and peppy IMO but his version is relaxing.
Also @Bach96, EPIC avatar
|
| |
Christmas music is the equivalent of being beaten over the head with a shovel while bright lights flash in your eyes and small children surround you screaming gibberish.
|
| |
lol whatever. I can see why people get sick of generic xmas music being played in the stores and all over the radio, BUT there are some damn solid xmas artists, including...
Nat King Cole
Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Mannheim Steamroller
Bing Crosby
these are essential IMO
|
| |
Don't forget The Jethro Tull Christmas Album ;)
|
| |
@JT,
I actually did listen to it. Like you said it wasn't nearly as good as their other stuff. (Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, Passion Play, and Minstrel are all AMAZING)
However i'll give it another listen since it's only 2 weeks until xmas
|
| |
Agreed but there's still some great songs on there.
|
| |
which one's do you like the most?
|
| |
Birthday Card at Christmas
A Chritmas Song
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
A Winter Snowscape
The old songs they've re-recorded are obviously good too but not as good as the original versions. (Bouree, Ring Out Solstice Bells, Weathercock, Fires at Midnight)

| |
Oh and Pavane is great too.
