It has some excellent moments like the beginning of Lost Not Forgotten, the instrumental bit in Outcry, the solo in Breaking All Illusions...
...but more shockingly bad bits - the chorus of Lost Not Forgotten (so lame), all of the ballads, the dreadful Casio keyboard thing going on in Beneath The Surface, the fact the drums sound terrible throughout pretty much the whole thing, everything but the intro and initial riff in Bridges In The Sky, Build Me Up Break Me Down (ew). I could go on.

the instrumental part in Outcry is shit tbh but agreed that Lost Not Forgotten is good the first 2-3 minutes, the chorus is pretty fucking lame
however i really like Beneath the Surface and Bridges in the Sky, especially the latter one. the album isn't overall bad at all except the drumming which is really boring and generic on most of the album. this has its highlights though

I actually do like Beneath The Surface until Rudess kind of ruins it. I don't know what it is about Bridges, it feels like it should work, but something just doesn't click. I'm not sure how much my dislike of this album is due to disappointment, but I really don't think I could ever call this 'good'

I don't understand why he doesn't use actual instruments instead of focusing so heavily on synthesisers, DT's music needs to sound more organic. But I've lost interest in this band so quickly.
